Doctors Foster and Smith Dry Adult Dog Food Lamb & Brown Rice Formula

With the economic situation this country is going through my husband and I were looking for an alternative to the food that we were giving to our dogs that is inexpensive, but still good quality. We always look for a good source of food for them, not just any store brand dog food. One of our dogs is allergic to chicken, so we had to go with lamb.  We found one at our local pet food store, but  after a few years they stopped making that flavored food. All of the other brands that had the same flavor were super expensive.  So we stumble upon Doctors Fosters and Smith’s foods.  We had bought  a lot of other stuff at their web site, but never thought about dog food being that we thought it was going to be more expensive after factoring in the shipping.

It turns out that Doctors Foster and Smith’s dog food is great and inexpensive at the same time. They have the basic flavors, Chicken and Lamb, and they also have a variety of sizes. Because we have 3 large dogs, we needed A LOT of food.  We used to get the biggest bag at the pet store (either a 35 or 40 lb. bag. every 3 weeks or so). The more fancier brand (ther more expensive one) was about $42+ for a 30 lb. bag.  In comparison, Drs. Fosters and Smith’s food about$30 for a 30 lb. bag. and sometimes it is on sale, so it’s ever less expensive. But the savings don’t stop there. They also sell the food by the case, and if you but a two 30-lb. case, you can save another $5 for the two bags. the shipping can vary depending on how much you purchase too, but even with that, it is much less than at the pet store, and it is a great quality food that our dogs love.  They are in great shape, and as of the last visit to the vet, which was just two months ago in December 2008, he said that all three of them have a clean bill of health.
